Office 97 installation problem

I am trying to install office 97 on a 2nd hand computer
(windows 98)and I get an error during the installation
process of "ACMSETUP CAUSED AN INVALID PAGE FAULT IN
MODULE EMSUIX32.DLL AT 016:6F7F2FC5."

I then cannot load any application getting an MS097.DLL
error.

Any help appreciated.
