Hi Jim,

I am sure that you will not have any problem installing Office 97 in
WIndows XP. To confirm for yourslef for sure you can use the Microsoft KB
article 156042
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;156042. This gives
the information on the System Requierment for Office 97.

Note that the system requirements for Microsoft Office 97 SR-1 are slightly
different than those for Microsoft Office 97. If your Microsoft Office 97
package includes the logo "Designed for Intel MMX" in the lower-left corner
of the front of the box, you have Microsoft Office 97 SR-1.

To use Microsoft Office 97 or Microsoft Office 97 SR-1, you need:
Personal or multimedia computer with a 486 or higher processor

Microsoft Office 97: Microsoft Windows 95/98 operating system or later, or
Microsoft Windows NT 3.51 Service Pack 5 or later (will not run on earlier
versions)

Microsoft Office 97 SR-1: Microsoft Windows 95/98 operating system or
later, Microsoft Windows NT 3.51 Service Pack 5 or later, or Microsoft
Windows NT 4.0 Service Pack 2 or later (will not run on earlier versions)


For use on Windows 95/98: 8 (megabytes) MB of memory required to run
applications individually (12 MB required to run Microsoft Access); more
memory may be required to run additional applications simultaneously


For use on Windows NT Workstation: 16 MB of memory required to run
applications individually; more memory may be required to run additional
applications simultaneously


Microsoft Office 97: 73-191 MB hard disk space required; 121 MB required
for typical installation, depending on configuration. Use the Office
Upgrade Wizard during setup to maximize free disk space

Microsoft Office 97 SR-1: 73-191 MB hard disk space required: 125 MB
required for typical installation, depending on configuration. Use the
Office Upgrade Wizard during setup to maximize free disk space

CD-ROM drive (Coupon enclosed for 3.5" high-density disks. CD-ROM product
