Office assistant

Since upgrading to OL2003 (but keeping the rest of Office XP) I often get
"Office assistant characters are not installed" whenever I start Word or
Excel. A reboot usually fixes it, and I can see the office Assistant in OL
even when I cant in Word.Excel.

Any thoughts?
