Office Closing At Startup

Okay, my friend has Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 and Outlook Express. We
were able to get Outlook Express to work, but Office Outlook is a much
different story. When you open Office Outlook, the first thing that comes up
is

"Configuring Outlook"

After which, a box comes up saying

"The connection to the Microsoft Exchange Server is unavaliable. Outlook
must be online to complete this action."

Now my friend, at installation, had thought the server she needed was a MES,
but it wasn't. So now the MES box appears, with a "General" tab, as well as a
place to put in MES server name, as well as her own name. Along with this are
two choices: Okay and Cancel.

If either of those are chosen, it goes to the same box of "Unable to open
your default e-mail folder. C:\Documents and Settings\------\Local
Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook\Outlook.ost is not an offline
folder file." and closes automatically.

The problem is, it doesn't give us the choice to change the default or other
server information. If we had the option of selecting the File bar, it could
be done manually, but with it just closing, we don't have the option. Does it
need to be re-installed or is there a way of resetting defaults?
