I have Office XP 2002 SP3 installed on my XP pro PC.
Excel and Word open fine. I click on file open and the OPEN dialogue box
opens fine. If I then click on the down arrow next to My Documents to see
other folders on my PC or the network it takes up to 20 seconds for the
folder hierarchy to open up. Once it does if I then select another folder
even local to my PC again I wait another 20 seconds.
Task manager says that the CPU is not being used and the network shows no
traffic. There is also no HDD activity during this period.
I can not find what is causing this delay.
I dont have this problem opening documents using other applications.
I have tried detect and repair as well as upgrading to SP3 but no joy.
I have shut down all unecessary tasks on my PC but still no difference.
Please help as I am tearing my hair out.
