Office doesn't recognize my computer

I added memory and upgraded to Windows XP on the same PC
where my Office 2000 had been installed. I've had to
reinstall Office, but for registration or validation,
whatever, Microsoft informed me that Office with my
serial number is installed on a different computer. I can
only use it something like twenty times before it goes in
the tank. How do I fix this?

Office2K has no validation process other than entering cd code on
installing.
Are you sure yr referring to Office and not an XP product?

Actually you're wrong. Activation was introduced in the Mark 2 release of
Office 2000 (so to speak) - I believe the package included SP1 at least.

Wasn't with my SP1 Premium version
However if later versions have activation then, assuming its not a 'copy
disk set' perhaps it was installed on this pc, then after the pc sys upgrade
MS still thinks its still installed on origonal sys.
Is there a phone activation route?
