Office Family Licensing

I am an avid user of Microsoft Office and have purchased several licenses.
We have a home network and have multiple workstations for our family's use
located in convenient places. Although it is appropriate to ask users to
purchase a licensed copy of Office, it is too expensive to ask home users
with multiple workstations to buy a separate license for multiple
workstations all used by the same person or few family memebers for different
purposes. Microsoft should offer a family license for Office which permits
it to be used on as many home workstations as desired as well as a travel
Notebook computer for personal and family use only.

For family use Microsoft offers Office 2003 {Standard edition} for Students
and Teachers which can be installed on up to three family computers for
family non-commercial use provided someone in your family meets the Student
or Teacher criteria. For more then three computers, you must purchase a
second copy. In US, this edition is available for less {sometimes much
less} than US $150.

BTW: you must be using Windows XP or Windows 2000 {SP 3 or +}.

What the "should", "could", our "will" do are separate issues. They
have share holders to satisfy.

For home use consider OpenOffice (www.openoffice.org.). Free and supurb
quality.

I'm also an avid an active Office user ... but my family uses OpenOffice.

Hope this is useful to you. Let us know.
