Office hangs when I attempt to save or close document

Excel, Word, and Outlook will hang when I try to close them. I posted the Outlook problem on the Outlook board. This began occuring when I changed from the classice wi windows view to the XP windows view. I also altered my font and icon sizes when I made this change.

I have reinstalled Office over the old copy and installed all of the updates available.

I haven't used Front Page or Publisher, but I suspect the same problem will manifest itself there.

When I use the Task Manager to close the programs I get a message that the program is waiting for a response from me, but nothing that I need to respond to appears on the screen.

Can anyone help me rectify this problem. I, obviously, can't save any work that I haven't previously save when the programs hang.

I also cannot access the help files for any office program, including Publisher and Fron Page. I purchased Front Page separately from my Office XP Pro. What the heck happened to my Office package

Could this be an activation problem? I recently installed a new sound card. When I click on the activate this product selection in the help section, all the programs hang and I have to use the task manager to close them. This stinks big

I just uninstalled and reinstalled Office XP Pro for the second time. Still no improvement
