Office Installer Help

I am trying to install Office 2003 onto my Laptop. I get
the following error:

Error 1719. The Windows Installer Service could not be
accesses. This can occur if in safe mode of if Installer
not correctly installed. contact support personnel.

I am running XP Pro with no problems, have installed
Office XP which runs perfect and purchased Office 2003 to
put on my Laptop.

Does anyone know where I can get a new copy of Windows
Installer for XP or what I need to do to make Office 2003
install on this machine.

Microsoft Download only offers Installer for versions
other than XP and do not have any help for fixing any
corrupt versions in thir database.
