Office is closed after calling VB-Editor

I use Office2000 with WinXP-Home SP2.
Whenever i Try to call VB-Editor (in Outlook or Excel) the Programm is
killed without any errormessage. Is there any configuration, that does not
allow the use of VB-Editor or is any dll missing or corrupt?
