Office Picture Manager deleted my files!!!

I had a file open, clicked auto-correct and attempted to save. It said it
could not save all or part of the file so I cancelled it and when I went back
to the folder the file was gone!!!!! It was not in the recycle bin. This is
just unacceptable. I have now lost two photos of awards that cannot be
recreated.....

You might see if there's anything in any of your temporary folders (TEMP,
Temporary Internet Files, etc.) or named *.TMP that might actually be your
image file.

I meant to include I looked in my profile temp folder and even looked at file
extensions, sizes and times. No such luck. So then I made a copy of another
pic, opened it and did the same thing to it. When I tried to find anything
associated to that file.....no luck. I renamed the extension on a few files
in the recycle bin and still no luck. I would like to know why it wouldn't
save the thing to begin with. I will be using another prog from now on
that's for sure. I guess it should be expected from the MS black hole.

I suggest you retrieve the copy of the original that you saved before
you started editing. As with any valuable item, the owner is responsible
for arranging for the insurance. Use whatever program you wish to edit
your images, but it won't prevent the potential loss of only copies.

Sorry, I can't find anything in the MSKB or Google web or Google Groups that
suggests this is a known issue.
