office pro 2003

grapape

had office pro 2000, just installed pro 2003. have full
version but chose the upgrade current option.
towards the end it asked for disk 2 of the 2000 copy. went
to check for updates. it updated the 2003 just fine and
said i needed the 2000 service release 1a. so it downloaded
a small file and when i run that i get the agreement page
and then the install page and then it says its gonna start
downloading, but then it kicks up that it could not
download it. gives me an option to retry or cancel.

retry no work.

If you have the full version of 2003, why not do a new, full install - and avoid having to apply service patches and the possibility of a convoluted install.

You need to remove the programs via the control panel - and then probably remove misc programs and registry entries with the office 2000 removal tool and the remove windows installer program - both downloadable from MS.

Just a thought -
