Office product identification help please!

Hi,
I've posted this three times now but it never shows up so I will try once
more. We have a problem, we are updating some workstations in our small
office to XP pro and rather than inherit the gremlins from the old OS, we are
doing clean installs on all of them. Trouble is, we then have to reinstall
the office software but we don't know which copy is on which machine. They
were all thrown in a box and we don't know which is which. We have 6 copies
of Office XP but don't know which is on what machine. How can you tell? I
looked under help>about and it gives a product identification number but I
can't find any reference to that on any of the discs. All we have is the
product key and that doesn't help either. Anyone know how to resolve this?
thanks
BG

And I answered it a little while ago. You have to remember that not everyone
is home from work yet. And some of us who are want to spend time with our
spouses, etc before jumping on the computer. You'll find life a lot easier
if you take a breath now and then - and stick to ONE thread, not three.

I have a copy of this program and I will try that and see if it works. Thank
you for the suggestion, it's probably a good idea to run anyway in case we
have any driver issues.

Hello: I have just purchased a new HP with software installed and when I put
in the product key that came up and said to keep, it tells me it is invalid.
What do I do? Also my E disc is full and i did not use it as far as I know.

Is the preinstalled Office a Trial Version? read the paperwork supplied by
HP any key will be in that, its not the key that is on the label attached to
your PC, that is the windows key.

Your E drive, if that is a hard disk partition, is likely the recover
partition.
Read the paperwork supplied with your PC
