Hi,

We have a pc that I need to change the office registered
to information. We have changed the windows registered to
and that is working. I have deinstalled and reinstalled
and it keeps showing this person's name under the about
word, excell...I have deleted the profile for this person

This is on a Windows NT domain and is running Windows xp.

Any suggestions?

Hi Sandra,

You didn't mention the version of Office you're using.
In Office 2000 and up you can use Tools=>Options=>User Info
in Word to change the name. In earlier versions it's
embedded in the program files during installation and
the MS supported method is to uninstall Office, restart
the PC then install it with the new information although
it can still be in locations coming from templates, for
example.

Hi Sandra,

If you changed the information in Tools=>Options=>User Info
in Word while logged in as administrator that should
change the help and splash screens. If not you may
also want to manually change the registry key
