We have about 10 users who connect to our terminal server to use Office XP.
They recently started complaining that when they open a document from inside
Office there is a significant delay when they try to browse to a document
over the network. For example, they go file\open and then they click the
drop-down box, the program will be unresponsive for about 30 seconds. Does
anyone know why this is happening? Thanks

On each user's computer, right-click on the My Computer icon on
the Windows desktop, left-click on Disconnect Network Drive, and
disconnect any mapped network drives that are not currently
available.

All there mapped drives are currently available. I did some further
investigating. With Word (or any Office program) open, you click on Open and
you get the open dialog box right away. The delay happens only the FIRST time
you try to browse a network drive in the open dialog. After the initial delay
it works fine. I set one of my user's default location for Documents to a
valid networked drive and the same thing is happening.
