Office Shortcut Bar disappears, won't stay on top

I want my OSB to stay always on top, and come up right away on Start. Did it
OK for awhile when PC was new, now it has to be coaxed out of hiding by
clicking on a desktop shortcut to Start/Programs/Microsoft Office
Tools/Microsoft Office Toolbar.
I have it configured Customize/View/ with checks on Show Tooltips, Always on
Top, and Auto Fit into Ttle Bar area.
I see I also have checks on Animate Toolbars, Sound and Show Title Screen at
Startup, don't see any utility to them, I'm going to uncheck them and
restart pc as soon as I've posted this, will post a 'never mind' immediately
if it helps! Thanks in advance!
BTW, I have Office 2000 and win xp pro.

I don't understand--are you suggesting that I reinstall Office
2000--otherwise the article doesn't make much sense in solving my problem.

You apparently did not read the article, because nowhere in the
article does it say to reinstall Office 2000.

OK, the article says the following:
"SYMPTOMS
When you run the Setup program for Microsoft Office 2000, the Office
Shortcut Bar (OSB) may not be installed."

Reading my initial posting, where I state that OSB is installed, but just
doesn't come up automatically anymore, what is the relevance of this article
to my problem? I don't see it!

The article does say this. Do you see anything about an OSA9.EXE
file? You don't see it because you didn't read beyond the first
sentence. Sorry to have attempted to offer a suggestion that has
worked for many others here. Good luck.

OK, I learned the answer elsewhere, so in case anyone here needs the correct
info (minus the unhelpful attitude I was shown here), here it is:
you need to put the microsoft office shortcut bar icon into your startup
program

How to do it: go Start/All Programs/Microsoft Office Tools/Microsoft
Office Shortcut Bar -- then, make a copy of the Microsoft Office Shortcut
Bar icon there by right-clicking it and "create shortcut" -- grab the new
shortcut icon and place on your desktop -- remaining in Start/All Programs/
find Startup, put your cursor on it so the Startup folder opens, then with
the folder open, reach out and grab the then grab the shortcut you just
stashed on the desktop and place it into the Startup folder. And that's it!

What a coincidence that the article I suggested says:

"A shortcut to the Microsoft Office (Osa9.exe) program must be in
your StartUp folder in order for the Office Shortcut Bar to run
at startup."

Again, if you had bothered to read the article, then you would
not have had to go elsewhere to learn the answer.

Yessir, you are correct. There is a small note about 3/4 of the way down
saying that. Good for you, you win! But I think my description is a whole
lot easier for anyone to follow, and a lot friendlier, too. Personally, I
think your attitude was rather unpleasant in answering my question. So do me
a favor, please, and if I ever ask for help on this NG again, just ignore
it, please!

I want to change my instructions a little bit, I just found a part that
should be improved:

How to put the microsoft office shortcut bar icon into your startup
program: go to Start/All Programs/Microsoft Office Tools/Microsoft
Office Shortcut Bar -- then, make a copy of the Microsoft Office
Shortcut Bar icon there by right-clicking it and "create shortcut" --
grab the new shortcut icon and place on your desktop -- remaining in
Start/All Programs/ find Startup, put your cursor on it so the Startup
folder opens, then RIGHT CLICK "OPEN", then reach out and grab the
the shortcut you just stashed on the desktop and place it into the opened
Startup folder. That should do it!

If you didn't like my suggestion, which was offered in
friendship, then you should have taken your own advice and
ignored it, rather than reply in the insulting tone that you did
(doesn't make sense, doesn't solve your problem, irrelevant,
etc.). Realize that you reaped what you sowed in attitude. You
might notice that most questions in this forum receive multiple
replies from different people... yet after almost two weeks,
nobody else wanted to reply to you... take that as a hint.
