Office Student Teacher Installation Problem

I am trying to install Office 2003 Student Teacher edition. I am running XP
professional.

When I bought the machine, I installed Office 2000 Small Business. While
installing the new 2003 software, I received a message asking me to install a
disc for Microsoft Office 2000 SR-1 Premium. I never had a disc for this
product, so I have no way of loading it. To make matters worse, I can't open
my old files because the install process is partially complete and has
removed some of the old program (I believe). I really don't want to
reinstall the old office product.

I'm not a techie, so please give me advice in very step by step terms.
