hello,
I have downloaded a trail version of Office standard edition 2003 from the
Microsoft website, but when i try to install on my XP home edition sp 1, an
error appears and tells me that "a newer version of windows is needed". the
instalation then stops. any advice would be welcomed.
thanks in advance

Hi Mark,
I have a MicroSoft Office 2003 Trial version as well. The 60 day trial
suddenly expired today without warning and I am unable to send emails from
Outlook or read any of my files! I went to the store and purchased the
Office Professional Edition 2003 and I am unable to install it. I read on
the MicroSoft website something about deleting the trial version first, but I
just got off the phone with MicroSoft (the tech support is not open right
now), and the agent cautioned me not to delete the trial version because it
could delete data. He said I need to talk to Tech support first before I do
anything by calling 1-800-936-5700 between 7am. and 11 pm M-F Central Time.
Good luck!
