Office Update SP2

B

Bob Buckland ?:-\)

Hi Jon,

Where are you seeing this? There have been batched releases
of Office SP2 in various languages that as they're localized
and MS Update did misreport needing Office SP2 for a couple of days
and offering only the fullfile update.

=======
<<You're not alone.

I too have noticed several Office SP2 releases. The initial release from the
6th Oct, was replaced on the 19th Oct. This was then replaced again on the
21st.
None of them state what has changed and there's nothing on MS's website about
them. Do any of them fix the problems with Access 2003 and GPO deployment?
That's my biggest problem at the moment.

To get three revisions to an update is rare. Three on a major update like this
within the space of three weeks - unheard off!

What is MU and WU and how were they relevant in this issue?
a) I'd assume Microsoft Update and Windows Update
b) Relevant because they were apparently giving some "false positives" as to
the need for SP2 updates on some machines that already had it.

Hi Jon,

Ahh. There's still only one version of SP2 (v1) that has
been released. As I understand it there were some changes
to the available packaging choices but that you should also have seen
text with those that there has been no content change
in the SP2 update and no re-deployment is necessary if you had already
updated.
