Office vs. Works

Last night I installed MS Office Student & Teacher
Edition. This AM I tried to open a document that I had on
MS Works word processor. It stated that I would have to
reinstall and view the license user agreement. If I
remember correctly, the program came w/ my computer
(already installed). Did installing Office negate my
license for Works? How can I fix this?
