Office Won't Install

Andrew

Hello,
When I try to install Office 2003 it comes up with "Cannot find L4561403.CAB" but it is exactly where it is looking for it. The file isn't corrupt or anything as I tried it on my friends pc to see if the same error would happen and it installed fine. Could some one please tell me how to fix this.
Thanks
Andrew

Hi, Andrew,

Try copying the CD to your hard drive and installing from there. Does that
fix the issue?

It makes no difference. But I am confussed why it works on my friends machine and not mine.

Hi, Andrew,

If you're running Windows XP, try installing (or re-installing) SP1 for
Windows XP and see if that allows you to install Office 2003.

It still does not go... could you please find a way to fix this

I can copy a installed office off another coputer. but I would need some kind of program to install the rest of office, or some kind of install that doesn't want those files. I really need Office.

Hi, Andrew,

Help me troubleshoot here:

- Are you able to open the CAB file in Windows Explorer?

- Are you able to copy the CD contents to the hard drive without errors
during the file copy?

Also, could you send directly to my e-mail address the log file from the
installation failure? You can get my address by replacing the -dot- in my
reply address with a period.

See this article for how to find the logfiles:

Problems:

Thanks--
