We have computers that have been running Windows 2000 and Office XP for over
a year now. All of a sudden a few of them are giving errors when opening
Word and Excel. The error when opening Word is "This document could not be
registered. It will not be possible to create links from other documents to
this document." I saw on a couple of postings with the same problem that it
might be due to virus. I looked at the referenced web page and looked for
msblast.exe in the C:\Winnt\System32 directory, and it is not found. I have
also run a virus scan on these machines using Trend OfficeScan. I also found
that Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft
Knowledge Base Article 291316. Are there any solutions to this?
