My PC that had Office XP installed has crashed beyond
repair. Can I reinstall Office XP on a new machine
without activation problems?

If Office came preinstalled, or bundled, with your old system (IOW OEM)
then, no, you can't. An OEM licence is tied to the first computer it's
installed on, in perpetuity, and can never be installed on another system,
regardless of what fate befalls the original. If you bought it retail, then
yes, no problem. Suggest you read the EULA.
