Mike
I've been having problems with two installations of Office XP Pro both
sitting
on Windows XP Pro boxes.
I'm getting the ever famous "program is not installed for the current
user" error.
i've uninstalled/reinstalled, repaired etc. everything i could think
of.
It initially began when i joined the two machines onto a new domain.
they were setup as single user workstations previously.
I have found that all the applications work if i login as the old
administrators username. my question is if i copy that profile to the
users profile would that work?
or would i be better off uninstalling office yet again, and then
removing any keys from the registry? i've read on the MS KB that, that
may help.
a complete system reinstall of the system is by far that last resort,
as these systems are in another province and the users aren't vary
computer literate.
i've been doing most of the work with the use of a remote desktop over
our vpn.
thanks mike.
