I have Office 2003 and I also bought Proofing Tools for
Office XP, when I used to use Office XP. Now that I Office
2003, the installer wont let me install it using 2003. I
see that microsoft is selling a newer version. i find this
wrong that I have to pay another 80 USD to install the new
tools. I see no reason why a bunch of fonts and speller
checkers be incompatible between the two versions. I
expect a patch to be released to allow me to install the
product, or issue me the newer version of the software free
of charge.

I would had emailed customer service directly, but i see no
way in contacting about this particular product, as i cant
install it to get the freaking product id.

i expected better from microsoft

Well, this is the way it has always been - new products require compatible
software. It is not just Microsoft that does this.

When you purchased a new car in 2003, did you expect a free upgrade to the
new CD player available in 2004 models that play MP3s?
