Office XP Service Pack 3

I'm trying to install the 3rd service pack, but I keep getting a message that
says "The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is
unavailable." Then it asks me to enter an alternate path to a folder
containing the intallation package 'proplus.msi'. I can't find proplus.msi. I
have the installation disks, but no proplus.msi.

The proplus.msi file should be on your "Office XP Professional
with Front Page" CD.

Do you know where it is on the CD? I've looked in every folder and searched
for the file on the CD, but I can't find it.

The CD says "Microsoft Office XP Professional" Version 2002. Perhaps I don't
have the right CD for this update?

Thanks.

I think I specifically mentioned the CD you need, and the
proplus.msi file should be in the root folder of that CD. Did
you install Office XP Pro on your computer using the CD that you
have? At some point in time did you borrow someone else's Office
XP Pro with Front Page CD to add features not available in your
version?

Yes, you specifically mentioned the CD I need. I have the CD I need (again
"Microsoft Office XP Professional" Version 2002), but I can't find the
proplus.msi file. I've not borrowed anyone else's Office CD. The search
option does not find proplus.msi. There is no proplus.msi; however, there is
a proret.msi. I guess this means that I don't have the office product
required for the update.

Check the title of the installed MS Office XP Product in Add/Remove Programs in the Windows control panel. If it is not an exact
match for the edition named on the face of the CD you do have then it's possible that a different version than the CD you have was
used to preinstall Office XP on your PC. If that is the case then you'll need to either contact the folks who did the original
sale/installation for the correct product CD, or backup your files, uninstall the one you don't have the CD for, restart the PC you
have then install from the CD you do have.
