I've recently upgraded to a new PC, and am trying to install the Office XP
(Student and Teacher Edition) package onto it. I bought a retail copy, and
previously had it installed on my old machine. I can't activate it on the new
one and can find no way to transfer my licence over. I've uninstalled it from
the old machine, so as I understand it I am entitled to use it on my new PC.
The problem seems to lie in the fact that Microsoft's activation system
believes I'm trying to use it on multiple PCs. Is there anything I can do?
I'm sorry if this problem is answered elsewhere, but Microsoft's site is
really confusing - so full of random technical information you can't find
what you're looking for.
