Office xp won't replace my 98 operating system

Chris

I have recently installed a new edition of office xp
professional on my pc that has 98 installed. The
installation resulted in some of the items from xp and I
can open documents in xp, but when my pc starts up it does
not initiate as xp operating system, but instead it goes
to 98. Whats the deal? I have tried the wizard under
repair install already.

You've got to be kidding.

Windows 98 is an operating system, Office XP is an application suite of programs. To get Windows XP operating system you need to purchase it.

It is a good thing that you didn't try Office 2003.
