Office97 to Office2000 Upgrade

I purchased a PC with Office 97 on it in it's OEM disk. I later purchased a
new PC and also purchased Office 2000 upgrade. Both versions of Office were
properly registered. Then the new hard drive crashed and I'm trying to
reload, BUT I trashed the OEM disk along with the old PC and so the Office
2000 upgrade won't load without a prior version of Office.
Does anyone know if Microsoft will honor the registrations and assist me in
loading the Office 2000 or am I totally out of luck?
