I recetly installed office2003 along with windows 7. When I open Office
applications I get the message concerning officepluginres.dll and information
that suggests that 'contribute' is not properly installed.

The Internet suggested changing this DDL's name to 'dllold', which I tried,
or to reg edit changing an Adobe property to '0' where it was currently '3'.
Neither of these suggestions has worked.

It has to be said that the error does not seem to alter the working
properties of the applications, it is just an irritant

Do you indeed have Adobe Contribute installed and do you also have it set to
integrate with Outlook?
Which add-ins are listed in Tools-> Trust Center-> Add-ins?

Resetting your dat-file might solve this. For details see;
