OfficeXP Pro fails to install with Windows Installer error

When installing OfficeXP Pro I get the following error
message:

Windows Installer

Incorrect command line parameters.

Windows Installer V 2.00.2600.1106

This message occurs immediately and the install aborts.
This is a fresh install of WindowsXP Pro. Any ideas?
