Two days ago, two new issue arose with my installation of OL2002.
1. Offline Sending. When I'm working offline (using OST), and I click
the "Send" button on the Standard toolbar, nothing happens. Well,
almost nothing. The message appears in the outbox, but not in italics,
and the mail message window does not close / disappear. I've tried
messages in Word, HTML, RTF, and text. Same for each type.
2. Offline Send / Recieve. When I click the Send/Receive button during
an offline session, OL crashes with a major error that appears in the
event log. All messages open during this are trashed.
What I've tried:
1. I've reinstalled Outlook (all of office, actually).
2. Tried "repairing" both my PST and OST
3. Dozens of reboots
What's really strange is that I've used the offline features for months
with zero problems. It really makes no sense to me.
My specs: Dell Latitude D600, Win XP, Corporate Image, no add-ins
anywhere. I'm running NAV per the corporate policy, but this has been
on forever. When connected to the network, I'm logged into Exchange 5.5
with a normal mailbox. I have a PST file for storage of excess mail.
Clearly, issue number one is my priority. I've never really been sure
what the Send / Receive button was for when I'm offline. How can I send
or receive when I'm not connected to the network anyway?
Any help the group can help me with on these topics would be great. I'm
traveling this week, and I'm going nuts not being able to work offline!
Many TIA
Dave
