OL 2003 attempting to send messages not in outbox?!

Hmmmmmm!

I have no messages in my outbox yet OL 2003 is attempting, unsucessfully to
send 2 mesaages???? Eventually I have an error message 0x800ccc0f.

Looked at all the associated support and help but none relates to "Ghost"
messages!?

ny on have an idea?
