OL2000 cannot open attachments

Outlook 2000 I am unable to open *.exe and many other attachmens to my
emails. Win XP

Is there a workaround to this?

Thanks for the patch. Didn't work as needs SP3 installed. I installed SP1
but could not get SP2 to install.

Any thoughts?
