Old email messages

I copied my old email folders (.dbx) from Outlook express
to a CD so I could load them to my new computer and work
them with Express or Outlook (as I had with Win ME).
However, I cannot get Express nor Outlook to recognize the
file(s) and load it as a folder. Outlook does not have an
opiton for importing .dbx folders. Can someone tell me
how to access this collection of mail?

Outlook can't read .dbx files. If you want to use Outlook, you need to first
set up OE on this computer....copy the OE store folder from your CD to your
hard drive, make sure the files aren't read-only (change the properties), in
OE go to tools | options | maintenance | store folder, point it at your new
store folder. Once they're visible in OE, you should be able to export from
OE to Outlook, presuming you've already set up Outlook on that PC with a
mail profile & PST file....
