A number of our users use an Access 2000-based room booking system, and need
to publishing report information to Word which they prefer to do via the
OfficeLinks button/menu option. Publishing the report for the first time
isn't a problem, however, as of a couple of days ago, if a user wants to
publish a report, and choses not to replace the existing file an error
message appears stating, 'You tried to use a form, report, or datasheet that
contains an OLE object but the OLE server may not be registered properly.
Reinstall the OLD server to register it correctly'. We have tried various
things - reregistering ole32.dll, reinstalling Access, etc. but it makes no
difference. Word is fully installed and works properly, and whilst typing
..rtf or .doc after the document title in the File name box would work, it
doesn't solve the problem of why this is now needed. Does anyone know how we
can solve this, please?
