on schedule I want to shade summer months (school out period)

I am creating a schedule for remodeling a school and want to highlight the
time frame that school is out. How can I do this?

Hi,

Make the holidays nonworking days in the Project Calendar.
If necessary, you can still have work done during this period by assigning a
resource that has working time then.
