On screen shadows

Hi. While presenting a PPT 2003 show today, using the same data projector
that I usually use, I noticed that all the text and pictures seem to have a
faint ghost image just behind and off to one side - making reading the
screen tiresome. On the laptop screen everything looks normal. The the guy
told me it could be a problem with the 'output' from my laptop. I'm not
sure what this means. Anybody know? Thanks in advance.

You roll and unroll the cable which connects laptop and projector every time
you use them. Wires or connections can break over time and cause strange
phenomenons. Borrow another cable from someone to try out whether this is
the cause. If yes, buy a new one for some dollars.

Thanks for th tip Ute , but I have tried on a number of projectors and with
various cables, I still get the 'doppleganger' effect.
Any other ideas?
