One account in two computers, appearing in only one computer

I have 2 machines (1 laptop and 1 desktop), and they are both plugged
directly to the LAN. I am using both machines to connect to one mailbox. When
I receives an email in my mailbox, the mail appears directly in the laptop
but does not show on the desktop, unless I clicks on another folder in the
mailbox then goes back into the mailbox - it then appears. It is as though I
have to prompt the mail to appear in the inbox, when looking at the desktop
machine.

Try adding Outlook as an exception to yuor firewall settings.
