I am using the SideNote function of OneNote 2007 to take some notes on a
particular Web based seminar that I'm taking. I closed the SideNote when I
was finished and it saved the file to the unfiled notes section as expected.
What I'd like to know is if it is possible to temporarily turn it into a
SideNote again in order to continue taken notes again on the same page when
I continue the seminar traing over the next few days?

Can't you just create a new SideNote and copy/paste the current
details from the page in the untitled notes? Shouldn't take too long.

When you open a new side note page, click the "Previous Page" button on the
toolbar to back up to the one you want to amend.

Josh,

Thanks. That does exactly what I wanted. However, it does present me with a
minor inconvenience although I can live with it if there's no way around it.
When I launch the SideNote and then click previous page it saves a blank
note in my unfiled notes section before opening the previous note. I have
the same problem if I open a SideNote and then decide not to take any notes.
Clicking close saves a blank page. Do you know of any way to prevent the
saving of a blank page?

Of course, I forgot about that.

Well what you can do instead is click the "Delete Page" button (a white page
with a red x at the bottom) when the new side note comes up and it'll go
back to the previous page. Then you can navigate back further if the one you
want to amend is not the immediately previous page. If it's in another
section though then you're better off just opening up the full OneNote view
which is really the same as side note view in full screen, unmaximized, with
only the standard toolbar on.

I'm just wondering:
Why do you want to continue with a *SideNote* and not just open the
saved page in its notebook?

Rainald,

At the time I was taking an on-line seminar setting forth how to use the new
features of some Bible software I had just upgraded. The seminar was broken
into three one-hour segments over a three day period. I needed my notes to
always be on top so I could type them while listening to and watching the
training session and I wanted all my notes to be placed in one place within
OneNote.

While as you mentioned, I could have just opened the original saved note in
OneNote, it wouldn't have remained on top and allow me to view the webinar
session at the same time. My SideNotes windows is always on top of any
application I have open so I can easily take notes while viewing another
application.

Using the tips given me earlier, on day one I opened a SideNote, added the
page title and proceeded to take notes on the webinar and then closed the
note when finished. On day two I just opened a new SideNote, clicked the
icon to delete the page and it brought up the most recent unfiled note,
which just happened to be the notes I had started the day before while
viewing the webinar. I then just proceeded to add notes to my original note
and closed it when finished. This was repeated for day three.

When the training was complete I opened OneNote as normal(not as a SideNote)
and moved the note from my unfiled notes section to a Notebook I have where
I keep notes on my various software applications.
