OneNote Mobile Audio

I find that having OneNote and OneNote mobile to be a great way of keeping
track of my notes. I recently tried to record a lecture session (which is
over an hour). This is where i face a problem with OneNote Mobile.

I cant seem to locate any options in OneNote MOBILE to reduce or change the
audio settings of the recording. Its stuck to a wav format with what seems to
be a high quality. My 2g card runs out long before the lecture is over. If
theres a way to reduce this settings, i would really appreciate being pointed
in the right direction.

My alternative now is to use a third party software to do the recording, and
manually insert that file into OneNote on my pc. If a third party app can
record to MP3/RAF for long durations, i dont see why OneNote mobile cant do
that.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Yes. Doing that one has to face a number of limitations.

Not quite that.
You did not say which type of device you are using.
On my PDA (O2 Neo/Qtek s200) recordings taken in ON Mobile share the
settings valid for audio note-taking. If I reduce the recording quality
to the lowest recording quality possible (8.000Hz, 2KB/s) the output is
far smaller (on the PC the WAV-file is shown to have 13 KB/s).
My 2g card runs out long before the lecture is over.

A 2GB would easily take a 1 hr recording.
But I fear that you only think to use the card. I for one did not yet
find a way to make ON Mobile place the recordings on the card. It
defaults to \Application Data\Microsoft\OneNote Mobile\ and I do not see
a way to change that (except registry hacking).

As said above, ON shares the settings made for audio recording on the
mobile device.
This IMO still would be too big for recordings of the size you need.

That's why am doing too.
And it works really fine.

Easy to see why: It's just not built in.

But as said, I do not see a problem.
For recordings on my PDA for quite some long time I have been using
"NoteM by Alexander Zavorine" (downloadable at many place, just google
for NoteM).
As the format I use MP3 so that the files become really small. And I
store on the SD-card and later move them to the PC and insert them into
ON.

Drawback: ON Mobile seems not to like MP3 files embedded in pages :-(
:-(
Therefore MP3 recordings can not be played back form ON.
