Ooutlook 2007 with Outlook Connector crashing repeatedly

A

A.J.

I hope someone has an idea of what to do about this.

Last week I updated Outlook Connector to the 12.1 Beta because 12.0 wouldn't
synchronize my mail anymore and ever since then Outlook 2007 has crashed
repeatedly, usually after running for about 6000 seconds.

Once it crashes, it offers me the chance to send information to Microsoft
and to restart Outlook. Once Outlook is restarted, it's just a timer
counting down to the next crash, most crashes are after sessions of 6001-6020
seconds, a few are shorter by seconds or minutes, one is longer.
Outlook acts normally when exited manually.
Outlook runs normally without crashing under a profile that does not use the
connector to connect to Hotmail/MSN.
So far, all crashes have been at times when Outlook was not actively being
used, either running in the background or just sitting there without input.

From the most recent event here are the logged messages.

The Application log has an error message:

Event ID: 1000

The Office Diagnostics ran without finding any problems.

I created a new profile but the crashes still happen.

Any other ideas to try?

Is there any significance to the bucket information that might be helpful?:

2. Installed Outlook Connector v12.1 beta
3. Outlook now crashes every 100+ minutes with the error below. (Noted Jul 25)

I don't know what they do with all of the error reports but they're getting
one every couple hours from me.

There are other Outlook add-ins installed.

Active Application Add-ins lists a bunch:
- COM Addin for Microsoft Office Outlook Connector
- iTunes Outlook Addin
- Microsoft Exchange Unified Messaging
- Microsoft Office Groove Proxy for Outlook Add-in
- Microsoft Office SharePoint Server Colleague Import Add-in
- Microsoft Outlook Mobile Service
- Microsoft VBA for Outlook Items
- Outlook Change Notifier
- PocketKnife Peek
- Windows Search Email Indexer

There are a few Inactive add-ins as well:
- ICQ Express
- Microsoft Access Outlook Add-in for Data Collection and Publishing

There are also the following Exchange Client Extensions:
- PGP Plugin
- Outlook Connector Extensions
- Exchange Extensions property pages
- TeamStatus Form

Is any on this list an add-in or extension with known issues?

I've tried deactivating some of the unimportant ones (iTunes, PocketKnife &
associated plug-ins) but I still get the crashes.

My computer stared doing the same thing on July 27, 08.
What is going on?

:

The Office Diagnostics ran without finding any problems.

I created a new profile but the crashes still happen.

Any other ideas to try?

Is there any significance to the bucket information that might be
helpful?:

I hope someone has an idea of what to do about this.

Last week I updated Outlook Connector to the 12.1 Beta because
12.0
wouldn't
synchronize my mail anymore and ever since then Outlook 2007 has
crashed
repeatedly, usually after running for about 6000 seconds.

Once it crashes, it offers me the chance to send information to
Microsoft
and to restart Outlook. Once Outlook is restarted, it's just a
timer
counting down to the next crash, most crashes are after sessions
of
6001-6020
seconds, a few are shorter by seconds or minutes, one is longer.
Outlook acts normally when exited manually.
Outlook runs normally without crashing under a profile that does
not
use
the
connector to connect to Hotmail/MSN.
So far, all crashes have been at times when Outlook was not
actively
being
used, either running in the background or just sitting there
without
input.

From the most recent event here are the logged messages.

The Application log has an error message:
Source: Microsoft Office 12
Event ID: 1000
Faulting application outlook.exe, version 12.0.6316.5000, stamp
4833a470,
faulting module msncon32.dll, version 12.0.6237.1003, stamp
47cc7a07,
debug?
0, fault address 0x000b2cc4.

The Microsoft Office Sessions log has an error:
Source: Microsoft Office 12 Sessions
Event ID: 7001
ID: 6, Application Name: Microsoft Office Outlook, Application
Version:
12.0.6316.5000, Microsoft Office Version: 12.0.6215.1000. This
session
lasted
5991 seconds with 60 seconds of active time. This session ended
with
a
crash.

The Microsoft Office Diagnostics log has an information entry:
Source: Microsoft Office 12 Diagnostics
Event ID: 205
Office Diagnostics has determined that there is no evidence of
repeated
problems.

iTunes Outlook Addin and Outlook Change Notifier are both Apple products, one
for iTunes and the other for the Mobile Device service. I've already tried
deactivating them. It did not stop the crashes. They were also both on the
system when it was functioning normally, before the Outlook Connector was
upgraded to v12.1. I have removed them anyway just to help simplify things.

The TeamStatus form is part of MS Project used for updates on workgroup
projects. Deactivating it didn't stop the crashes.

One of my computers Outlook just started to download my emails.
It looks like it is working now.

Further information about this ongoing problem:

Outlook 2007 crashes wiht an error while it is performing a Send/Receive,
usually after the progress bar is near the 90% range.

The interval at which it crashes is tied to the Send/Receive interval. This
table describes the data.

Inervals in Minutes
Send/Receive Crash
3 ~56
4 ~75
5 ~88
6 ~90
7 ~105
10 ~172

Disabling scheduled Send/Receives seems to prevent crashes but that was only
tested to 24 hours.

Has there been any further news of a known problem that would cause this?

I don't know what they do with all of the error reports but they're getting
one every couple hours from me.

There are other Outlook add-ins installed.

Active Application Add-ins lists a bunch:
- COM Addin for Microsoft Office Outlook Connector
- iTunes Outlook Addin
- Microsoft Exchange Unified Messaging
- Microsoft Office Groove Proxy for Outlook Add-in
- Microsoft Office SharePoint Server Colleague Import Add-in
- Microsoft Outlook Mobile Service
- Microsoft VBA for Outlook Items
- Outlook Change Notifier
- PocketKnife Peek
- Windows Search Email Indexer

There are a few Inactive add-ins as well:
- ICQ Express
- Microsoft Access Outlook Add-in for Data Collection and Publishing

There are also the following Exchange Client Extensions:
- PGP Plugin
- Outlook Connector Extensions
- Exchange Extensions property pages
- TeamStatus Form

Is any on this list an add-in or extension with known issues?

I've tried deactivating some of the unimportant ones (iTunes, PocketKnife &
associated plug-ins) but I still get the crashes.

Hmm. I hope its just you that it doesn't like. :)

Do you have any other addins installed?
Are you sending the crash reports? It's highly recommended you always let
the windows send the reports - it really does help them fix the problems.
