Open attach file on Outlook 2002 SP3

Could please help ??
When I try to open an attach file even if is in my PST
file or in my Exchange maibox it took 2 till 3 min to open
it espetially Excel files. Any advises are well comes
thanks in advance
NB : I'm using Office XP SP3 and OS : W2000 SP4
