Open Outlook from IE7 through an uri

Hi all

I have added a sink to an exchange server which detect all incoming mail on
a mailbox. This sink takes the unique address for the respective received
mails and sends them through various servers. At the endpoint is the user
which will get a screen popup on his IE7.

When clicking on the link in the screen pop (which looks something like the
link below)
outlook:00000000135D5B29B082A34D966F3ABF89F90EBC070006FF0FE23D0D3C4D9D0494EC5576E8D70000000214F8000006FF0FE23D0D3C4D9D0494EC5576E8D7000000021B600000

the Outlook application is supposed to open and show the received mail. This
works fine if I take the same link and paste it locally on the explorer to
the user.

But when the user clicks the link, outlook seems to start up but hangs... I
can see the process has started in the Task Manager. Has this something to
do with the fact that the screenpop is generated from an external server
and by that is not permitted to open the outlook application ? Or are there
any other issues involved here ? Any solutions out there ?? :)

Best of regards...
