OpenArgs and Strings

Two questions:

Where can I go, if anywhere, to get a good grasp on the possibilities and
limitations of openargs?

I have the same questions for writing strings. Where can I go? I can never
seem to grasp when to use quotations, parentheses, etc when I'm working with
numbers or text. Once I think I've got it, wrong I am.

I think that if I get a good grasp on these two items, it could open up some
more possibilities for my programming.

OpenArgs are *always* strings if that helps. Though it is not directly on
topic, this link does discuss when you use quotes.
