Opening a Publisher 3.0 file in Publisher 2000

I have received a Microsoft Publisher 3.0 file that I need to open in
Microsoft Publisher 2000, but it says that it can't open other Publisher
versions. Aside from being shocked at this, is there anything I can
do? Is there any converter available? I'm trying to print some CD
labels for a Civil Air Patrol squadron, and this is a bit frustrating.

How do you know that this is a 3.0 file? A 3.0 file is considered a
Publisher for Windows 95 version, however, if you look in the code of
Publisher files, 3.0 seems to be stuck in newer version coding as well.

Are either of you runnin Norton Antivirus?

As you surmised, it was by looking at the binary data in the file and
seeing a "Publisher 3.0" stream. I have been unable to contact the
originator yet, and am trying to get this done in case I can't reach her
in time.

If there is another way to find out, or another binary location to
examine, I'm all ears...

If it's not to private, you can send the file to me and I can convert it for
you hopefully. (e-mail address removed)
