Publisher 2000. Modified for Microsoft 2007. Cannot open old file

I have Publisher 2000. Because I am using Microsoft 2007 it has been modfied
to suit. My grandson has sent me a file in Publisher 2000 to be printed, but
I can't open it. Can anyone help?

Not sure I understand. If you have 2000 installed you should be able to open the
2000 document. Publisher 2007 will open 2000 files, not the other way around.
