Opening an attached photo

Recent emails with attached photos show the photo as a jpg format, but when I
open the photo, it attempts to open with Word and I get a word document that
is gibberish. The attachment photo also has the Word symbol next to it.
Also when I try to send a photo through zoombrowser EX it does the same
thing. Any help?
