opening files

how can i open each document in a new window. At the moment they open in the
same window and is annoying when working on several things at the same time -
i am using Office 97

By upgrading to a newer version of Office. If you're running Windows 98 or
earlier, then you'll have to find a copy of Office XP as that's the last
version that will run under 98.

I have Office 97 on an ancient laptop and I cannot find a way to do what you
desire.
