Opening IE window

When I click on a url in an Outlook message, Outlook opens
a new IE window each time. Is it possible to have IE use
an existing window if it is already open....and only open
a new one if one does not exist?

I get a number of news summary messages, such as from NYT
or USA Today. When Outlook opens a new window for each
news article I want to read, I either get a lot of IE
windows or have to take the extra stem of closing the
windows each time.
